Brown Vizsla - Known for its Coat Color

brown vizslaThe brown Vizsla is a breed known for its copper and brown color in its coat. There can be variations in this coloration with some russet gold hairs and even some dark sandy colors as well. There have been individuals dogs that exhibit a reddish color in their coats as well. Sometimes dogs can be born with areas of white on the fore chest and sometimes on the toes. Though this may look cute to future owners, it is not a desirable characteristic for a show dog. There are two types of coats that the Vizsla can have; smooth coat Vizslas and wiry hair brown Vizslas.

People who don't have vizslas might call them brown, but we vizsla owners know that they're red. Even the brown ones are red. ;-)
