Starting in the early 50's this club was originally called the Magyar Vizsla Club but changed its name later on to facilitate breed recognition by the AKC. The Vizsla Club of America, or VCA, holds yearly national events such as a national field championship stake, national specialty show, obedience and rally competitions and a national agility trial.
